Falling Skies Predictions

Filed under: TV Shows — Stephen L. Thompson @ 1:22 am

I’ve only seen the commercials for Falling Skies.  I haven’t gone online to read reports or rumors about the show.  But based on my limited knowledge, I don’t think I’ll enjoy the show.  The reason is that I get the impression that the evil aliens are just one-dimensional evil aliens.  I know it’s supposed to be more about how the humans are dealing with everything, but I think that will only work for so long.  Eventually, I’ll want to know why the aliens are here and the reply “They’re one-dimensional evil aliens” just won’t cut it.

  1. I disagree with your comment. If you watch episode 8 of season 1, you will find out differently. I have the feeling that the structures are used to (Spoiler alert) create skitters from harnessed kids who grow to adulthood. Either this, or people who are harnessed at one point will eventually become a skitter in the future. The human like aliens are remotely controlling the skitters, which… (or who) are enslaved to build mechs, which is the second primary function of the towers above each city. Lastly, the scrap metal from the city is most likely being used to fortify the structure and build more mechs to fight the survivors and the second mass.

  2. I only watched the first four or five episodes and just didn’t care about any of the characters. I then missed a couple of episodes, and to be honest, I don’t care to go back and watch them.
